One can attend this annual two-day event for orchid lovers, hobbyists and admirers at all levels of interest for one or two days. Think of it as a mini vacation to the tropics or an exotic island that is in your own back yard. Hold the dates February 4 and 5, 2012! Orchid Quest 2012 promises to be the event that you don’t want to miss.
Orchid Quest 2012, the 25th orchid show sponsored by the Madison Orchid Growers’ Guild, will be held at Exhibition Hall the Alliant Energy Center, 1919 Alliant Energy Center Way, Madison, WI. Huge orchid displays in the exhibit area and thousands of fragrant orchids for sale from vendors. Also: seminars, quilts, artwork, painted porcelain, raffle, silent auction and everything you need to take care of your new orchid plants.
The show is Saturday February 4, 10AM to 5 PM and Sunday February 5, 10 AM to 4 PM. One day entry fee is $7.00 and two day pass is $10.00. Senior discount honored. Children 12 and under are free.
Glen Decker began growing orchids at the age of 15 and holds the degree of Associate in Applied Science in Ornamental Horticulture. Glen is presently the owner of Piping Rock Orchids in Galway New York. He was the previous chair of the American Orchid Society's Publications Committee and is presently a Director of the Orchid Digest Corporation.
Glen has won numerous AOS awards, including the Butterworth Prize, Nax Trophy, WW Wilson Award and the Carlyle A. Luer Award. He has appeared in Martha Stewart's Better Living Magazine and on a PBS TV special "Orchid Delirium". He rewrote the Slipper section of the Brooklyn Botanic Garden's "The Best Orchids for Indoors" and was the technical editor for the "Orchids for Dummies" book.

Bus tours are an easy and convenient way for your group of friends traveling to Orchid Quest. Bus parking is $18 per day at the event gate. A 20 passenger van only pays $6 per day at the event gate. Special group admission rates offer a $1 savings per day for each person and are available (in advance only) for groups of 10 or more. One-day tickets are $6 and two-day tickets are $9.
