February Meeting - Troublesome Orchids

Bring in your orchids that are giving you trouble or have never bloomed. Members of the society will answer your orchid growing questions. You might also be able to trade your troublesome plant for someone else's. Sometimes all an orchid needs is a change of environment or at least a threat.

There will not be judging this month. Instead, please send your blooming plants to the Batavia show.

By-law changes
Please review the changes that were sent in the January newsletter. We will be voting on the by-law changes.

Orchid Quest 2005

Orchid Quest 2005 was a huge success thanks to all of the members who were able to contribute their time and talent. We had a total attendance of 1,979 people.

Renew your Membership

Remember that membership dues are due by March 1. You can fill out a membership form and give it to Steve at the Febraury meeting. Download the pdf form here.

Orchidarium Auction

There will be a silent auction at the February meeting on the Orchidarium being donated by Arlene King; minimum bid is $125.00.  If members cannot make the meeting, they are encouraged to email their bid to Liz Wood by 12 noon on Friday February 18.  Her email address is ewood@biochem.wisc.edu.

Volunteer Opportunities

We need a volunteer to coordinate our display for the Green Bay show March 5 and 6 and the Illowa Show March 20.

We need lots of volunteers for the Spring Sale on March 26 at Olbrich Gardens. The jobs are setting up the plants and tagging them with prices. This is an important way for us to donate some of the proceeds to Olbrich Gardens who supports our club.
