The ‘birth’ of a flower – pictures were taken over 5-6 days as the flower changed from bud stage to a gorgeous open flower.

Brassocattleya Cynthia "Serene" HCC/AOS (Brassavola digbyana x Cattleya walkeriana) was purchased in 2000 at the Santa Barbara Orchid Show (Jim Rose, CA). This orchid has been blooming profusely since 2003, at times 3-5 buds in succession. It is growing downwards which is typical for C. walkeriana.

Brassolaeliacattleya (Blc. Jose Martin X Brassavola nodosa) from Natt’s Orchids in Naperville. We received it as a gift in February 2000. We never divided it and so it is a rather large plant and blooms 2-3 times a year.
